Double lions heads protect a faceted, diamond cut Amazonite, the Stone of Courage and Stone of Truth. The Lion is a symbol of authority and command over the subconscious. The lion hunts at night, and is thus a nocturnal, lunar animal. The lion is also a solar animal and represented in many cultures as having dominion over the Sun. The two heads here show this unison and how the lion shares the world of both night and day, bearing the message of prudence and balance. Lions are further viewed as guardians of the dead, of shrines, of thrones, as well as protectors of hearth and home. The lion as totem represents strength in overcoming difficulties and reigning in difficult emotions, such as anger or fear. Lions are courage, honor, wisdom and dignity.
Lions Head Ring
Every stone-set LaceyDU piece carries a stone of significance.
Like waters deep and ancient, Amazonite beckons in captivating shades of turquoise-green, promising to soothe the spirit and calm the soul. Its energy is as powerful as the river for which it is named, and as bold as the legendary women warriors with whom it is connected, yet it tempers aggression, tames the irrational, and stills the disquiet. It provides harmony and balance.
Called the Stone of Courage and the Stone of Truth, Amazonite empowers one to search the self and discover one’s own truths and integrity, and to move beyond fear of judgment or confrontation with others. It provides the freedom to express one’s thoughts and feelings, and to set strong and clear boundaries.
As a powerful talisman of healing and prosperity, Amazonite has been used in jewelry and cut into beads since the time of the early Mesopotamian cultures. Well-known in India, Egypt, Sudan and Mesopotamia, it was a popular amulet stone and was once used as decorative material for building facades. It was carved and cut into tablets for the Egyptian funerary text, Book of the Dead, and an Amazonite scarab ring was found among Tutankhamen’s treasures.
Amazonite was also worn as jewelry in pre-Columbian South and Central America, and was believed to have adorned the shields of the semi-mythical Amazonians, a formidable tribe of female warriors thought to live in the 10th century B.C. They also used Amazonite medicinally to heal wounds and illnesses of all kinds.
As a metaphysical healer, Amazonite soothes the chakras and aligns the physical body to the etheric. It is particularly rejuvenating to the Heart and Throat Chakras, enhancing loving communication on all levels. It balances one’s masculine/feminine energies as well as many aspects of the personality. It awakens compassion for others by allowing one to perceive both sides of a problem and accepting differing points of view.
RING SIZES: Most of my handcrafted rings cannot be resized due to their sculpted nature. Each is a piece of art and to stretch the bands would result in misshapen pieces. Let the pieces speak to you and I'm sure it will fit a finger or two! I try and size each piece to accommodate you in this way. Many thanks:)
